„Before the Devil Knows you’re Dead“ ist für mich kein einfaches Album. Und die Betonung liegt hier auf „mich“! Denn die sechs Franzosen von „The Crook and the Dylan´s“ liefern 13 wirklich gute Songs, die perfekt ineinander greifen. Neben schnellen Partystücken mit catchy Hooklines wie „Dance Johnny Dance“ kommen immer auch ruhigere Stücke, die das Ganze schließlich etwas runter kochen und so eine der Platte eigene Dynamik schaffen.
